It was originally built in the middle period of the Ming Dynasty, with a history of over 500 years. It is said that in the reign of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty a man of hui nationality, Yangguozhong, who was offered a post in Sanhe Town and then settled in Nanshitou Village, led his family Muslims to donate money to build Nanshitou Mosque. The mosque not only has traditional art features but also contains strong colors of Arabian architecture. Originally there were palaces, halls and large rooms, all together 47 rooms, so it is famous for its large scale.
