Mabian Dafengding Natural Reserve

Mabian Dafengding Nature Reserve is located within the borders of Mabian County, Leshan City. It is 167 kilometers away from Leshan City. It is in a transition zone between the Sichuan Basin and Yungui Plateau, neighbors Meigu County in the west, borders on Leibo in the south. It is a long narrow land with an east-west width of 15.3 kilometers and a north-south length of 37 kilometers. It covers a total area of 30164 hectares, of which the area of forestry land is 27195.2 hectares, accounting for 90.2%, and the forest coverage rate reaches 82%. The area has the main source stream of four Mabian rivers. It has the lowest altitude of 800 meters and the highest altitude of 4042 meters with a relative height gap of about 3000 meters. Owing to a steep topography, there are high mountains and dangerous roads with an average slope of 36°. It is a forest and wildlife type nature reserve centering on protecting pandas and the ecological environment.

Tourists who want to go visit the Dafengding Nature Reserve may enter it by way of Mabian or Meigu County. Route one：Chengdu－ Leshan （highway）－ Mabian County （cement road） Route two：Chengdu－ Xichang （train or airplane）－ Meigu County （cement road）
