The craftsmen take advantage of the natural color, texture and shape of the shell and make the shell carving picture through the procedures of cutting and rubbing as well as embedding according to the design requirements of the patterns. Some shells are cut and rubbed as thin as the wing of cicada; some are as small as rice; some are as slender as hair; others are as bright as pearl.
