Wei’s Smoked Chicken
Known as “Liaocheng Iron Cock” by Mr. Lao She, Wei’s smoked chicken was first originated by Wei Yongtai living in the North Gate in the fifteenth year of Jiaqing Era in the Qing Dynasty (1810 AD). It has a history of more than 180 years so far. Wei’s smoked chicken use choice materials and is cooked in care. It has pretty appearance, tender flesh, crisp bones, bright color and delicious taste. When eating the chicken, the fragrance is very special and lasts long. It goes well with wine or tea.
It is a traditional snack in Linqing County. Jimei Pickles Garden was built in the 57th year in Qianlong Era of the Qing Dynasty (1792 AD). It enjoys equal popularity with Liubiju in Beijing, Huaimao in Baoding and Yutang in Jining, which together called Four Pickles Park in North Yangtze River area. The traditional products of Jimei Pickles Garden include fermented bean curd for tribute, and sweet pickled cucumber.
Linqing Chicken Sack Filled With Treasures
This dish is originated in Tongzhi Era of the Qing Dynasty, which has a history of more than 100 years. The chicken sack filled in the plate like a lying red chicken. It is well cooked and tastes not only with chicken’s special flavor, but also delicacies from land and sea. So it is very popular in a feast.
Luohan Cake (pyramid Cake)
Luohan Cake is a kind of cake among famous traditional snacks in Gaotang County. It looks like moon cake, but there is no stuffing in it. Soft jujube is a traditional famous snack in Liaocheng. Having a history of more than 160 years, it was created by an old artist whose family name is Pan from Zhejiang Province in the Qing Dynasty. The soft jujube has a very particular taste of fragrant, soft and sweet. It sells well all over the county as early as the Qing Dynasty.
