Edition HistoryEdit Dalian City Transportation

There are three main roads in Dalian in the shape of an inverted T: at the left of the T is Zhongshan Road, at the right of the T is People's Road, and at the bottom of the T is Liberation Road. Together with Binhai Road in downtown, they service 90% of the tourist spots and squares.

Buses

Dalian has a comprehensive bus system. There are hundreds of bus lines in the city and one can get anywhere by bus. Dalian also has three trolleybus lines.
Buses start operating at 4:00 or 4:30 in the morning and stop operating at 22:00 or 23:50 in the evening. Buses run at intervals of 3 to 8 minutes. During rush hour, they run every 1 to 2 minutes. Most buses sell tickets without conductors. A single ticket is 1 RMB. Passengers should have the exact fare.

The minibuses are either small or medium sized. A single ticket is 2 RMB.

High-speed trolleybuses to Xian glujiao and Gold Stone Beach have been added, helping to relief traffic congestion in Dalian.

Taxi

The fare is 8 RMB for a 3 kilometers'ride, and 1.8 RMB per kilometer after that. Evening fares (from 22:00 to 5:00 the next morning) are 30% higher. Dalian is not very large, and most places can be reached for around 20 RMB.
