The city of Tieling, locating in the north part of Liaoning province and the middle part of Song liao Plain, is one of the fourteen cities whose municipality is under Liaoning province government. It has an area of 13,000 square kilometers and a total population of 2,941,000, including the urban population of 381,000.
Mountain area generally takes up forty percent of Tieling, water area ten percent, farmland forty and roads and fazenda ten percent. The eastern mountain area in Tieling is the tail of Mountain Changbai.
