Mudanjiang Transport

Mudanjiang City is located in the middle section of the international big pathway (from Harbin via Russia’s Haishenwai to Japan’s Niigata), which is an important transportation junction of Southeast Heilongjiang and Northeast Asia. In Mudanjiang, there are 3 counties and prefecture-level cities that border Russia with a 221-kilometer-long borderline, and it is about 248 kilometers from Russia’s Vladivostok and 331 kilometers from Nahodka. Taking advantage of its superior location, Mudanjiang connects a number of domestic major cities and foreign cities, which is available by railway, air and highway.

Air

Mudanjiang Airport is the air traffic hub of Southeast Heilongjiang Province and even Northeast Asia. It is located in the southwest of Mudanjiang City and about 9 kilometers from the downtown area, which is the national 4C-level airport. There are flights from Mudanjiang to a few major cities in China, including Beijing (every day), Shanghai (Monday, Thursday, Saturday), Guangzhou (Monday, Thursday, Saturday), Qingdao (Tuesday, Friday, Sunday), Shenyang (Mon, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday), yantai (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday), Dalian, Harbin, Tianjin and Changchun. There are also international flights from Mudanjiang to Russia’s Vladivostok (Wednesday, Saturday), Khabarovsk and Ya Cusick as well as Korea’s Seoul. There are regular buses from the civil aviation building to the airport. 

Railway

Mudanjiang railway station is a special-grade station that is located in Southeast Heilongjiang Province. It’s the point of intersection of Harbin-Suifenhe Line, Mudanjiang-Tumen Line and Mudanjiang-Jiamusi Line. There are direct trains from Mudanjiang to Harbin, Beijing, Tianjin, Tumen, Shenyang and Dalian. Most of the tourists travel to Mudanjing in order to appreciate Jingpo Lake. Thus, tourists can take bullet trains from Harbin to Mudanjing, which takes about 4.5 hours, and then take a bus to Jingpo Lake. 

Highway

Mudanjiang enjoys convenient and developed passenger transport. At present, there are 7 highway bus stations and 16 branch stations. In the Highway Bus Terminal located at the crossing of Xisantiao road and Ping’an Street and ON the square of North Railway Station, there are regular buses traveling to a number of cities, counties and major scenic areas, such as Harbin, Jilin, Changchun and Dunhua.
