A custom of throwing handkerchief and inviting marriage on Mid-autumn day prevails in Nanping and Longxi region of Fujian Province. On the right day when the bright and round moon hanging in the sky, people will set up a stage in the square on which unmarried girls disguised as the goddess in the moon will give a performance and sing songs with the audience. And then they throw the handkerchiefs with different embroidered flowers in all directions. The audience will strive to get the handkerchief and if the one he got is in the same picture with the one left in the hand of the goddess, he will be rewarded. And if the young man who got the handkerchief falls in love with the girl, he will come up to return the handkerchief and present gifts to the girl with her silent permission.
