Nanyang pyrograph, Nanyang

Pyrograph is a traditional folk handicraft in Nanyang, which has the unique ethnic style and full-bodied local color. It had a great reputation in the world since in the Qing Dynasty. And it was honored as a unique handicraft. Therefore Henan has the name of the home of pyrograph. The pyrograph is made by using the especial tools of pyrograph to draw all kinds of picture on the wood, paper and silk sheet. The wood, paper and silk sheet will burn and change color because of the high temperature of pyrograph tools. And then they will assume the line, outline and shade. The pyrograph is just as the traditional Chinese painting with fluent and changeable line.
