The Silk Road is the world's oldest and most important trade route and the bridge between eastern and western culture. The mysterious and historical route stretched eastward to the ancient Chinese capital of Chang'an, present-day Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, where many of the Chinese trade items that would be transported westward via caravan were collected.
