The Haba Lake Ecological Scenic Area, which covers an area of 100,000 mu (mu: a unit of area, 1 mu≈0.0667 hectares), is the largest Nature Preserve in Ningxia Hui Nationality Municipality. Xiyan Xian g arid desert grassland is as long as 38 kilometers and as wide as 64 kilometers. It covers a total area of 160,000 hectares which belongs to one of the Huama Temple National Forest Park Scenic Spots. The vegetation of Haba Lake Nature Preserve belongs to the Europe and Asia plain area, the middle part of Asia, and the transitional zone from loess plateau plain province to Inner Mongolia plain province.
Haba Lake Nature Preserve is a typical arid desert natural equation and relatively integrate natural ecosystem. With its plentiful cultural relics and historic sites, attractive mountains, rivers, sand and sea, the Nature Preserve is worthy of developing travel business. Thousands of green and luxuriant trees stand in the wind, dancing and whirling, to make the tour area more charming and interesting.
