Yellow River , the mother river of Chinese people, is the river with the largest amount of sediment concentration in the world. It is 5464.3357 kilometers long, 4,800 meters above sea level in the headstream and the average flow is 1774.5 cubic meters per second. Its drainage area is 752,443 square kilometers. Its headstream is in Qinghai Province, and flow into the Bohai Sea. Hekou, also named Jinmen, is the middle and lower reaches of boundary. Its cradleland is in the north of the Bayankela Mountain in Qinghai Province.
The Ancient Ferry of Yellow River, located on the east bank of the Yellow River, is 15 kilometers away from the Yinchuan city. There you can appriciate the impetuous Yellow River, the grand ancient Ferry of the age-old Great Wall, beautiful garden city, vast sand dunes, the renowned Shuidonggou Ruins and the absorbing West Xia studio. Now the Yellow River Bridge stretches over the river, replacing the ancient ferry. Furthermore, it neighbors Hedong Airport, which is the largest airport of Ningxia. The Ancient Ferry of Yellow River can arouse the imagination of many people and is a good place for tourism.

It is located about 30 miles east of Yinchuan city. Its fascination lies in impetuous waters, an ancient ferry, vast dune, and picturesque field. At present, the Yellow River Bridge takes the place of the ferry. And the Hedong airport which is the largest one in Ningxia is near it. It becomes more convenient to go there.
