Influenced by its varied topography and elevation, the feature of the vertical climate in Pu’er is obvious. There are 5 climatic types from low to high. They are north tropic, south subtropical zone, central subtropical zone, North subtropical zone and South Temperate Zone. Restricted by South Asian monsoon, Pu’er has distinct dry and wet seasons. The annual average temperature is between 15°C and 20.2°C. The coldest season is January with the average temperature between  10.3°C and 13.2°C. May and June are the hottest seasons with the average temperature between 17.9°C and 24.6°C. The annual temperature range is between 7.9°C and 12.3°.The annual rainfall is from 1100 mm to 2780 mm.
