Rested on seven arches, this stone arch bridge lied in the ancient post road from south Guizhou to Guangxi. Mandarin Duck Lake
The subterranean river flows through Karst billabong and produces two Karst pools, Yuan Lake and Yang Lake (Yuan Yang refers to mandarin duck in Chinese), which join with each other and were named Mandarin Duck Lake. The lake covers 13 hectares and is over 40 meters deep. And, tourists can enjoy the charming view when boating in it.
There is a grieving love story hidden here. With her calm appearance, the lake is clear, quiet and graceful. The water looks extraordinarily blue, decorated with reflections of the green trees around it. Through absorbing, reflecting and refracting the light, the surface of the lake shows uneven and changing colors, some part of it as sapphire, some as lilac and some as black rose, which is so blue that it looks purple and is black of a green tint, like the flowing and bewitching glance from lovers.
Sleeping Dragon Pool
Sleeping Dragon Pool is the exit of Sleeping Dragon River, a Karst underground river, which effuses from the bottom of the cliff. Though there is no sign of it on the surface, you can feel the rolling Sleeping Dragon River under the pool through the avalanche-like waterfall rolling down the dam and the flowing water in the dyke.
Around it, stones and trees of strange shapes stand in great numbers; high mountains surround, which makes the pool like an abysm under the ground. Together with the roaring sound of water and the drizzly and fogy weather, everything here associated with the symbol of dragon will make tourists feel like in a lion’s den.
When torrents of water rush down the mountain, waves roll and surge in the pool, like a dragon presenting his power. Normally, Sleeping Dragon Pool, just like a sleeping pretty girl from a humble family, is natural, fresh, quiet and mild, being an ideal place for photography.
Not far from the source of Fangcun River, stands a natural huge rock across the river. From the cracks in the foot and sides of the bridge, grows grasses and shrubs. Vines and flowers wind around the bridge, which makes it a natural colorful rainbow bridge. Facing the waterfall under the bridge, where the waves are violently surging, small boats must not be close to but stop. Then, people have to climb the dangerous rock with the boat on shoulder. Until being above the waterfall can boats go against the current in the Underground River and between the gorges. With dangers and adventures, the scene offers a different kind of pleasure.
