There are three Train s each day:
K428,from Gelmu to Lanzhou which departs at 13:52 and arrive at 10:52 in the following day;
5702 normal, from Gelmu to Xining which departs at 18:18 and arrive at 11:28in the following day; the price for hard-seat is 53 Yuan and for soft-seat is 113 Yuan.
8760 slow, from Gelmu to Xining which departs at 21:40 and arrive at 18:52 in the following day; if you want to take it at that day, you have to book ticket in advance in the office on the second floor of the railway station.

Tips:
Qinghai-Tibet railway is the longest railway built on plateau in the world with the highest altitude and the longest mileage on frozen earth. The first-stage construction of 814 kilometers from Xining to Gelmu had been covered with rail in 1979 and went into service in 1984; the second-stage construction of 1142 kilometers from Gelmu to Lhasa was operated on June, 29th, 2001. The second-stage construction is the most challenged railway project in the world because it passes a length of 860 kilometers above the altitude of 4000 meters and the highest point of 5072 meters’ altitude at Tangula Mountain Pass, but also overcame the complex geological condition along the line, including a section of 550 kilometers’ perennial cryolithic zone. All the constructers and workers struggled and overcame the three world-level engineering technical roadblocks, namely the perennial-frost block, the high-cold oxygen-poor problem and fragile zoology, and accomplished the great project on July 1, 2006(a year early), which created many world records on railway.
