Why today is the Singles' Day in mainland China? How to celebrate it ?

- November the 11th is written as "11.11" in China. The four "ones" vividly represents four singles are getting together. It is the day that has most 1s during the whole year. Just like the Singles Awareness Day that celebrated in the western countries, single people like me gather to celebrate or to commiserate in their single status after work. This celebration originally comes from early 1990s, among college students in Nanjing and becomes popular over the internet after the year of 2000.
