I visited Nanning 2 years ago and found there is very little to see. Now we are planning a second trip to that region and my friend insisted on a day in Nanning. Is there any thing interesting that you can recommend to us? I am bored at the thought of wasting a day in that dull city.

- Nanning is NOT a dull city. I think you can have a wonderful day there. Parks, shopping malls, night pubs and BBQs in the Zhongshan road. There are lots of fun there.

- I would prefer to travel up north side. These types of scenery in Nanning are very common in China.

- I spent almost two weeks in Nanning. It is wonderful to simply wander around and watch the locals. Lunchtime in the parks are AWESOME! People singing and dancing, playing "pokes" and other games. Others playing instruments. They're great. One of the BEST days was spent at Jiuquwan Hot Springs. It a bit in the outskirts. Still, I was able to take a public bus directly there. I think I spent about 120 yuan and enjoyed the springs ALL DAY (from early morning until night!). There are many pools, each with a different addition (tea, milk, coffe, juhua....etc) each with it's own benefit. It is a bit out-of-the-way, but WAY WORTH IT!! I wouldn't miss this.

- Detian waterfall is a famous waterfall by its beautiful and grand scenery, and it's the second largest bilateral national waterfall in the word. So it is a worth place for your sightseeing.

- For city construction, I think Nanning is far more better than any other cities in Guangxi. Nanning now has become the second Shenzhen in China! But if you want to see something interesting, I think Nanning is not the right one.

- I visited Nanning in 2004 and found it was rather dull, old and dirty streets, serious polluted rivers. But they say the city is becoming more cleaner and beautiful every day. maybe, but i do not know.

- Unlike its neighbor, Guilin which brims with beautiful attractions, Nanning has few sights of broad appeal. The government has extensively renovated the city for the China-ESEAN Expo which is held annually at the city, main streets and river banks having been beautiful landscapped. Since ever the city has been claimed as " Green City" but the city has nothing speicial.
