Where to travel in April and May in China?

I am planning to travel China with my wife and a eleven years old boy. Can you recommend any good place to visit in this season?

- If it is your first visit to China, you may consider to go some well known destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guilin, Hong Kong. Weather in April and May in those places is quite comfortable. If you have already visited the mentioned places, you may go further to China's west frontier, Yunnan, Sichuan are both good tourist destinations.
