I will be in china for 3 days -beijing and shanghai , would you suggest a train ride to and from these cities , how far will that take, it is safe on the train for overnight - ?Would we have good view of china via train

- Take the express train D31, it only takes 10hrs from Beijing to Shanghai and it is very safe yet comfortable to take a train ride if you buy a soft sleeper.

- There are currently 10 services from Beijing to Shanghai each day and vice verse. Trains operating on this route cover almost all types of Chines trains while the D train with the highest speed and high level of comfort is widely used by travelers. The travel time varies according to different trains: D train: around 10 hours, Z train: about 12 hours; T train: 13 hours, ever longer time needed for K train and loal slow train. For both overnight and daytime train travel, you are advised to take care of your possession. Generally speaking all cars except the hard seat compartment are saft. Do not take the hard seat car which is usually very crowded. traveling by train offers a good opportunity to view china's rolling landscape and the tranquil countryside.
