It is very difficult to get train tickets to Tibet in the peak season from May through to September. It is impossible to make reservations for tickets. Tickets are purchased by buying tickets in person from the railway station of departure e.g. Xian, Beijing or Xining. Tickets become available at different times so it is impossible to guarantee that tickets can be obtained for any tour. We recommend you fly to Tibet and return by train as tickets are a little easier to obtain although still difficult.We cannot guarantee that groups will be in cabins together. Ticket allocation is at the complete discretion of the train operators.
