Early in Han (206BC-220AD) and Tang Dynasty (618-907), Ankang people started growing mulberry and being engaged in sericulture and the “ Silk Road ” came into being thereafter. Nowadays, Ankang has become the largest silk export base of Shannxi. The mousseline fabric which has long been called “Queen of Fabric” has special health-care functions to the human body.
