Air Transport

The Ankang Airport is located in the Wuli Town which is in the western part of the Ankang City. It is about 17 kilometers away from the center of the City. Every week there are flights going straight from Ankang to Xian, Wuhan, and other cities.

Railway

The Ankang Railway Station is located in the Jiangbei of the Ankang City. In the City there are two electrified railways: one goes from the Yangping Barrier to Ankang; the other one goes from Xiangfan to Chongqin. There is a third railway from Xian to Ankang. The three railways are the important lines in the railway transportation in central and south China, north China, southwest China and northwest China. The Ankang City stands right at its joint. Every day there are trains going to Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Xian, Chengdu, Chongqin, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Qingdao, and other big cities.

Highway

No. 316 and 210 National Highway stretch across the Ankang City. There are altogether 112 highways in the city, and the mileage reaches as long as 1,253 kilometres, among which that of the main highways is 180 kilometres long. Most of the highways here are at the third and fourth level. Within the city there are five bus routes and the total length is 60 kilometres.

Water Transportation

The shipping along the Hanjiang River in Ankang has already come into being during the period of the Qing Dynasty and Han Dynasty. The shipping here had mainly been used for military purpose and for carrying grain to the capital before the Ming Dynasty. In the Ming, Qing Dynasty and the period of the Republic of China, it had been used for passenger transportation. The River goes from Hanzhong to Wuhan, and is called the Golden Waterway.

The special tourist bus: there are special tourist buses going from the Anhuo Road to the Yinghu Dock, to the Baiyun Temple on the Tianzhu Mountain, to the Cuiping Island, to the Niufeng Fort, to the Zoo, and from the Temple of the Thunder God to the Xiangxi Cave.
