In fact Shangzhi is kind of edible then leaves of fernbrakes, distributing in very counties and cities of Shangluo. It got the name from Mt. Shang in Danfeng County. The color of Shangzhi is lilac, so it also got an elegant name, Zizhi (zi in Chinese means violet). It is a kind of famous wild vegetables with rich nutrition and special good taste. The starch contained in its root is good herb in traditional Chinese medical science, which can be made into a granule or powder preparation to be taken after being infused in boiling water. Recent years, Shangzhi not only enjoys great popularity in China, but also in Japan, Korea and some other southeastern countries.
