The black pottery produced in Weinan belongs to none-glaze pottery. The main ingredient is the fine and delicate red puddle, and the black pottery is done by the procedures of smelting, decomposing, making adobe, calendering, painting, carving and baking. Each of the procedure is done by hand. The finished product looks primitive and solemn, black and glittering. If you knock at the pottery, you can hear clear and melodious sound (that is a sign that the pottery is of high quality). They are of different colors of jet black, silver-grey and orange.
