Southern Wutai

 Southern Wutai is one of the most holy places for the Buddhists, it lies 30 km south to Xi'an.

On the lush and beautiful mountains, there are five peaks, they are respectively Qingliang, Wenshu, Sheshen, Lingying and Guanyin. Driving by car to the top of the mountain takes only 20-30 mins. If one climbs the mountain by foot, you can enjoy some outstandingly beautiful views along the route.

Experience the many streams, crossing bridges while traversing through the bamboo , viewing the temple from the slope, on the short time it takes to pass you'll most likely see many birds flying above.

There is a replica building of the ancient style called "Dusong Pavilion" which serves as a resting place for the visitors.

In the mountains, there are some ancient buildings such as Shengshou Temple, Shengbao Spring, Zhizhu Temple, Guanying Dais, Wufo Palace, and so on.
The Southern Wutai has been a famous Buddhist place as well as a resort for the emperors of a series dynasties.

It is part of the Zhongnanshan National Forest Park, so it boasts the name of natural park of plants and animals. In the park, one can enjoy the range of differing views that it has to offer in the four seasons.

Take direct bus to Southern Wutai at the South Gate, 5 Yuan p.p.or take the No 15 bus at the South Gate to Weiqu Chang’an for one Yuan per person, then transfer the coach (runs at 10 mins interval) to Wutai, 2.2 Yuan per person; or take bus at the South Gate to Wutai county, 5 Yuan per person, then take a tricycle there.
