Dezhou City occupies a superior location. It connects Beijing and Tianjin to the north; faces Jinan City to the south; joins Shijiazhuang to the west; and meets Shengli Oil Field to the east, which enjoys a fame of ‘the gateway to the capital’. Beijing- Shanghai Railway crosses the city from north to south, while Dezhou-Shijiazhuang Railway crossing from east to west. Dezhou-Yantai Railway is under construction. State line 104 goes through the city. Jinan-Dezhou Express Highway and Jinan-Liaocheng Express Highway ended the history of no highways inside the city. The historic Beijing- Hangzhou Grand Canal flows through our city. Projects are to be performed to conduct the south-to-north water transfer to replay its significant role of the age old canal.
