Baishi Terri, generally known as Zhangjia Paifang (Terri), is located in the middle part of Paifang Road. The Terri was constructed in 1778 with stones. It is 14 meters high, 9 meters wide, and characterized by an ancient style of four posts, three rooms, and five floors. The main room has single eaves while the assistant rooms have double eaves. Wood brackets on the top of a column supporting the crossbeam are crossed with each other and all of them have various carvings. There are respectively six and three such wood brackets under the eave of the main room and that of the assistant rooms. The layout of the Terri is lovely and compact in a balanced manner. The images of lion, dragon, peony, and Buddhist Statues are vividly reflected through carvings and they therefore create a cordial atmosphere.
Baishou Terri, also called Zhujia Paifang (Terri), is located 100 kilometers southwest Baishi Terri. It was built up in 1765. Since there are 100 same Chinese characters “寿” (pronounced as Shou )along the embossments, the Terri won the name Baishou and “Bai” in Chinese means “100”. Carvings in the Terri involve not only the images of Lion, dragon, and peony, but those of crane, phoenix, and plum blossom. They are exquisite, vivid, and grand. Compared with Baishi Terri, it is hard to make clear which one is better.
