Shandong Kuaishu is a form of Quyi arts with most of its contents spoken during performance. It originated in mid south and southwest of Shandong province in the Qing Dynasty, and now is popular in northern China and Shandong.

Shandong Kuaishu is created by both Shandong people and folk artists. It is simple in form. In the early period, most performers used two tiles to beat time, later ferula or armor plates and now copperplates. However it is sung in Shandong dialect ascent and takes quite a heavy local flavor, rugged and imposing.

During the performance, performers often make use of gestures and eyes and exaggerated body language to build dramatis personae, and pay much attention to humor and creation of suspense. They perform with a humorous language and vivid scenario, using exaggerated expressions and speaking in quick rhythms.
