Eggshell potteries are the masterpieces of black potteries of the Longshan Culture (3000-2000BC). The body is as thin as eggshell, but quite fine, smooth and solid. It exhibits wonderful lustrous black color and glitters after long time polishing. Linyi was one of the cradles of Longshan Culture. In 1973, the site of Longshan Culture was excavated in the Dafan Village of East River District in Linyi City and hundreds of beautiful and lustrous black potteries were obtained. Among them, the eggshell potteries reached as many as more than 40 pieces, which proved that the workmanship of making black potteries had reached quite a high level
