The Performance hall of dolphins is located in the east of Qingdao Sea Amusement Park .And the a only one wall distance between the Performance hall of dolphins and Qingdao Sea Amusement Park . Its place is a necessary part to Laoshan Mountain. In the year 1996, the Performance hall of dolphins is conferred the name of the first Performance hall of dolphins in China by related departments of China Central Government. The Performance hall of dolphins of Qingdao is the first Performance hall of dolphins, which has functions breeding and training. The Performance hall of dolphins of Qingdao has 34 pieces of sea animals. The area of the Performance hall of dolphins is 40,000 square meters and its architecture area 7,200 square meters. The whole building is like a boat molding with blue and white colors. The architecture of the Performance hall of dolphins is very different and interesting , especially its design of the main gate. A standing pillar of 33 meters high like a fork stands at the center of the main gate. There are three floors of the Performance hall of dolphins. And the indoors Performance hall can hold about 800 tourists. The indoors Performance hall can hold annual performance of dolphins for four seasons because there are advanced temperature controlling systems for adjusting the water temperature of the hall of performance of dolphins. Besides the performance room
in the Performance hall of dolphins, there are training room, laboratory, breeding room, and others. Restaurants for tourists are at the first floor and the tourists eating at the restaurants also can watch the performance of dolphins through a glass wall. There are indoors and outdoors rooms in the performance hall of dolphins. In order to satisfy the needs of those sea animals ,there are systems of sea water filtering, disinfection ,warm-keeping, water-heating and water circling system This means there will be the performance of dolphins held in North China even in winter. At present ,there are 6 pieces of trained North Pacific dolphins with wide lips ,4 pieces of South American sea lions , 4 pieces of California sea lions ,and 3 pieces of seals in the performance hall of dolphins. Other animals like peacocks, pearl pheasants, and about 40 kinds of ,total 2000 pieces of tropical fishes are also very worth visiting.
