City profile:

Yantai, in Shandong province of China, is one of the most famous seaside tourist cities with a good climatic situation and beautiful scenery and it is an ideal place for traveling, recuperating, summering and spending holidays. The coastline scattered many charming islands, beautiful harbors and beaches with golden sands and blue waves. The marvelous spectacle ‘mirage’ adds mysterious tint to this beach. Yantai has many scenic spots including the famous ‘Penglai Island’; ‘Chang ’Island which is dubbed as ‘Celestial Mountain on the Sea’; the fascinating Yangma Islet and the Zhifu Islands where the first emperor in Chinese history had paid visit for three times. All these natural landscape resources and historical and cultural remains give the tourist idea of ‘three districts and ten sights in one stripe, four cities and five gardens with six lines’ of this city. The whole city has 4 districts, 1 county, 7 county-level cities and 1 economic-technical development zones, covers an area of 13,700 square kilometers, among them downtown area covers 2643.6 square kilometers. It has a total population of 6,460,000, and in the downtown area there are 1,632,000 residents.
