Researches have confirmed that vitreous enamel had already been baked in Boshan since Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD), the priceless rain glaze and tea glaze started from Song Dynasty (960AD-1279AD), and white glaze ceramic was at the end of Ming Dynasty (1368AD-1644AD). Until Qing Dynasty (1616AD-1911AD), Boshan Artistic Ceramic was well developed with increasing kilns and expanding scale, producing daily fine ceramics. Conventionally characterized rain glaze and tea glaze are still considered treasure in the international market. Rain glaze is called sky-eye in Japan, and oil drip in historical records, because there are glittering silver spots on the jet-black glaze. The spots are as small as grains, just like sparkling stars in the sky at night. Tea sets made of this ceramic are quality goods in Japanese tea ceremony. Another kind of rare ceramic glaze is called tea glaze because of its gray-green appearance that is just like the color of tea. It is a kind of lightless glaze containing crystal mineral with spots like tea dust spreading on the glaze, elegantly and tastefully.
