Shanghai Sun Island Golf Club

Shanghai Sun Island Golf Club (上海太阳岛高尔夫球场) is located in an ancient and sequester islet in the middle reaches of Huangpu River, covering an area of 150 hectares. The club integrates holiday resort, meeting halls, hot spring and golf courses. Sun Island Club contains two 18-hole golf courses, namely a new one and an old one, which are target golf courses. The courses, designed by Nelson, Wright & Haworth Golf Course Architects Group, are relatively flat and much easier to play that that of link course. On sunny days, it’s easy for professional golfers to conquer the course. However, on rainy and windy days, there is great challenge for golfer to pay. U.S. Golf Digest has celebrated Sun Island as “Top 10 Golf Course in Shanghai”, and there have been a number of competitions held there, such as Volvo China Open in 1998.

Sun Island has won a large numbers of awards, such as a Top 10 Golf Course in Shanghai by U.S. Golf Digest. Besides, it has held various kinds of competitions including the Volvo China Open in 1998.
