JZ Club, Shanghai

JZ is the main jazz venue in Shanghai with bands playing all nights of the week. Here you can hear everything from experimental original compositions to standards and latin grooves. The bar has three floors with the stage in the main room, a balcony lounge where you can lay back and listen to the music, and an open veranda on the roof perfect for early summer nights. JZ attracts both Chinese and foreign audiences, and on weekends it is usually packed with people. The bands are mostly foreign but featuring many of the best Chinese jazz musicians. There are often concerts with international guests as well. JZ Shanghai is one of three JZs in China, the other two located in Hangzhou and Shangri-La.
