Hengshan Road, a famous cultural and entertainment street, has the reputation of  'the first business street in Shanghai " because of its thriving business activities in old Shanghai. Hengshan Road, connecting Baoqing Road in north, Tianping Road in south, has a length of 2410 meters. 415 French phoenix trees on both sides had accompanied the European style construction for half a century. Foreign-style construction, hiding behind the green aisle, makes the street free from vulgarity. For years, Hengshan Road has more than 180 leisure bars ,restaurants, beauty parlors, recreation centers and snack bars, which attracts many travelers from different areas.

Hengshan Road is most famous for its nightlife. There are all kinds of bars and clubs, some distinctly Chinese (with local beer and karaoke) and some more oriented towards a foreign audience. The most popular bars among foreigners are Sasha’s and Zapata’s (at the intersection of Hengshan Road and Dongping Road) which is crowded every night of the week. If you happen to come here in the afternoon there are still many places to get a cup of coffee, and there are many sights in this part of the French Concession as well. View Details
