Shanghai Olympic Stadium is the second-largest (just after the Beijing National Stadium) in scale stadium with the most advanced facilities in China. The stadium will host for football preliminaries in Beijing Olympics 2008. It meets all the functional and technical requirements of an Olympic National Stadium: the world's longest cantilevered steel truss roof structure with fabric canopy and span of 300 meters; design as per the directives of International Olympic Committee (IOC). The stands, with 80,000 seat capacity, evoke the image of a bowl. The shanghai Olympic Stadium is used for Football Preliminary rounds of the 2008 Olympic.
