Set in a conspicuous shining superdome of aluminum and titanium alloy, Shanghai Circus World is a state-of-the-art modern circus venue in the northern suburbs of Shanghai. It was inaugurated in 1999 with a two-month, sold-out circus fiesta starring the notorious Shanghai Acrobat Troupe. It now hosts regular performances from the world's leading circus artists on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The venue has top-notch acoustics, an advanced computer-controlled lighting system, 1638 seats, a motorized, revolving stage and 1540 square meters of stables for elephants, tigers, lions, chimpanzees, sea lions and many other creatures. It also stages some recurring annual events, most notably the Shanghai International Magic Festival in early November.
