Numerous peaks and valleys were formed by the unique environment. As the second largest river in Shanxi province, Qinhe like a jade belt zigzags through the area. There are poetic and picturesque green hills, green streams, ancient temples and odd cavities etc.
The whole area is divided into three parts known as The first sinus in China, Sanjiao temple of Zhijiao, and the Qi Long Jiu Nv Lake (lake of nine girl as the residence of dragons).Each of them is formed by several small scenic spots, there are 40 such scenic spots here in total.
The first sinus in China
Looking on the top of the Kuixing Mountain, the pines look like the sea and cloud and mist are slowly flying over the green peaks. The Qinhe River makes a 360°turning here embracing the mountain. The river and mountain set off by each other, what a perfect pair! Visitors can’t help to marvel at the power of nature. The mountain looks like a pagoda from the front and a cockscomb from the side, and it is circled by the dragon like river. The area looks just like a miniascape consists of flowers, rivers, shoals, temples, villages and terraces. The tone of the running river mixed with the singing of birds and the ding from the temple bring visitors to a poetic fairyland.
No1 River Draft in Shanxi
Within the area of “The first sinus in China”, the drafting section of the river is more than 3 km long, and there are 7 billowing sections, the longest one last for 500 meters. There are more than 50 drafting raft in various color. You can drive a raft along the sinuous and tortuous river through the weird peaks. On the way you can feel the rurality of odd cavities, flourishing trees and grasses, beautiful flowers etc, along with the excitement of splashing waves and whirling riptide. You can also paddle in the shoal water to catch crab and fish.
Sanjiao temple of Zhijiao
Lies in the east of Zhijiao Country, the temple is known for its precious woodcarving. It is a city level key historical site under government protection. And it was built in the 15th year of Jiajing (1536AD) in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and underwent two expansions and a renovation. The temple consists of 68 rooms, among them Wu Lou (Hall for dancing), Xian Ting (Pavilion for offering sacrifice) and Sanshen Dian (Hall of three saint) are located on the middle axes. And the Xiang Fang (wing room), Kan Lou (watching room), and Pei Dian (Side hall) are on both sides. The main entrance of the well designed temple faces east. It is said that it’s the largest temple to the south of Jincheng city.
