Shaoshan, a county-level city of Hunan Province, is the hometown of our great leader, Chairman Mao Zedong. It also ranks as a famous revolutionary memorial site, the national key scenic area, the national traditional revolutionary base for teenagers and the important cultural relic sites under state-level protection. Shaoshan is located in the middle part of Hunan Province, covering an area of about 210 square kilometers and a population of 100,000. It’s 40 kilometers from Xiangtan City and 120 kilometers from the capital city, Changsha. Shaoshan is reputed as a big natural oxygen bar, with the percentage of forest cover of 56%. At present, tourism becomes the leading industry of Shaoshan for its natural and human landscape.
