Shunxing Teahouse, Chengdu

Located on the third floor of Chengdu International Convention and Exposition Center, Shunxing Teahouse was reopened in the spring of 1999, covering an area of more than 3,000 square meters. It is a giant artistic complex, combining the architecture of the Ming and Qing dynasties, such as wall carvings, window decorations, wood carvings, furniture, tea ware, costumes and tea art. It was built according to the style of the famous teahouses in Chengdu’s history. It employed experienced tea art experts, ancient architecture experts and famous folk artisans to help with its building. It is a classic masterpiece of Sichuan tea culture, and also the first museum in China featuring the history and culture of tea.

After years of development, Shunxing Teahouse has opened up two branches in Chengdu, namely Shawan Branch and Shijicheng Branch. It has been celebrated as “Top 100 Teahouses in China”, “Celebrated Chinese Restaurants”, “Celebrated Sichuan Restaurant” and many other honors. Shunxing Teahouse has become a window to publicize the history and culture of Sichuan, and also the role model for creative arts of Sichuan. At Shunxing Teahouse, you can taste traditional Sichuan Cuisine, local snacks, Sichuan Hotpot, Covered-bowl Tea, and also enjoy the magical face-changing performances and exhibitions of Sichuan folk customs. Through these you will have a closer touch and a better understanding of Sichuan’s history and culture.

The decoration at Shunxing Teahouse perfectly combines the classic style of western Sichuan with modern fashionable elements. While dining and drinking tea, customers will also enjoy many traditional folk performances, such as face-changing performance, spitting fire and rolling lamp. With the wide hall and stage, Shunxing Teahouse is a great place for business banquets, private parties, wedding banquets and other activities.
