Jingning Temple was first built in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and rebuilt during the reign of Emperor Guangxu (reign time: 1875-1909). The construction of the temple is of the styles of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Jingning Temple is called a museum of ancient Chinese building. Structurally, the temple demonstrates the characteristics of symmetry of the ancient Chinese temples and the characteristics of the ancient Chinese building. It also demonstrates the construction features of the western gardens.
