These archways were built from 1838 to 1887. There are still 13 archways left, 7 in the north and 6 in the south gate of the county town. 5 of the archways are benevolence arches and 2 are achievement arches. Baishou (Baishou in Chinese means a hundred years old) Arch is 11 meters high and 9 meters wide. Most of the archways have 4 supporting poles, 3 gates and 5 stories.
