Considering its international airlines throughout Taiwan, there are total 34 airlines which are running travel businesses between Taiwan and other 56 foreign important cities. Considering its island airlines, there are total 7 airlines which are running travel businesses among cities throughout Taiwan.

There is a key railway line to pass throughout Taiwan, which passes by Taipei County, Kaohsiung County, Taichung County, Tainan City and Hsinchu City. There are also lots of branch railway lines which are connected with each latitudinal throughout Taiwan. The latitudinal and longitudinal railway net is a strong support for Taiwan’s railway transportation. Furthermore, there are daily trains running frequently among counties and cities throughout Taiwan so the railway transportation is very much convenient. For example, it just takes 4 hours and 10 minutes from Taipei County to Kaohsiung County and only takes 5 hours and 50 minutes from Taipei County to Taitung County. Furthermore, there are special tour trains, served by Taiwan railway transportation Service, which will set off at 9 o’clock every Saturday morning from Taipei Station and run along tropic of cancer first to show around Huatung County and then turn to show around the scenery in the west areas. There are free red or white wines, fruit dishes and other small travel souvenirs on the special tour trains.

Tourist who may get off on the way will be received by particular tour buses. The related tour trains for a sightseeing tour are always plying at the different stations

There is a very developed highway transportation net which is an extremely perfect system in Taiwan. In its north, there is a latitudinal highway from Taipei County to Ilan County. In its middle, there is a latitudinal highway from Taichung County to Tailuge sight. In its south, there is a latitudinal highway from Tainan County to Taitung County. There is a longitudinal highway from Chilung (Keelung) to Kaohsiung. Considering the around highway it passes by Taipei City and is along the west coast to the its southern point and then along the east coast to back to Taipei. The connected and supported developed highway transportation net is a much convenience for local people in and out, which is strengthening the communication among the counties and cities in Taiwan.

Taiwan is rounded by sea totally so its sea transportation is very developed. At present there are some key large ports like Kaohsiung, Chilung (Keelung), Hualien and Wuxi. Among the ports, Kaohsiung port and Chilung (Keelung) port are international ports. In the meantime they are commercial ports and military ones too. For the above mentioned ports there are regular lines from them to other small affiliated island and to Chinmen Island and Matsu Island.

Bus

There are regular buses from Taiwan airport to the main cities. Considering the interior transportation and communication, there are buses which serve all the island and serve only some area .They often offer charter service too.

Charter buses

Tourists can charter mini buses from different airports and travel agents in big cities. In some hotels and charter businesses, charter service is served too.
