Pattaya is located on the Gulf of Siam in Thailand between Indian Peninsula and Malay Peninsula, 154 kilometers southeast of Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. The city covers an area of about 20 square kilometers with charming scenery and pleasant climate. Pattaya is a world-famous seashore tourist destination and reputed as “Oriental Hawaii” with sunshine, beaches and seafood. People can enjoy sun bathing on the beautiful beaches, and take various water sports such as water parachute, surfing and water skiing on the coral island. They can also enjoy folk culture and elephant performances at Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden. In the evening, tourists can enjoy various performances and katheoy cabaret shows. Every year, about 200 to 300 international conventions with more than 100 participants each are held in Pattaya. Pattaya receives more than one million tourists every year with an income of over 7 billion THB. It is one of the important pillars of tourism in Thailand.

Pattaya is a world-famous paradise, integrating metropolis with seashore resorts. In recent years, the Thailand government and Tourism Administration have made great effort to make Pattaya a better tourist destination and have built many new sites to enrich tourists’ itineraries, such as Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum (Asia’s first), the Thai Alangkarn Theater Pattaya, Lake Land Water Cable Ski, water motorcycle center and Bottle Art Museum.

The sea with the coastline of 15 kilometers long, boasts clear water and mild waves. Tourists from around the world go there to enjoy sun bathing and have fun in water sports such as water skiing and snorkeling. Pattaya is bustling in the evening with fireworks exploding in the sky, various performances staged, a variety of characteristic bars and nightclubs crowded. Pattaya has the reputation of the “Oriental Hawaii” for its sunshine, beaches and seafood. The population there is only about 100,000 and it receives more than one million tourists every year. Pattaya Marathon which features several race categories, is held in July each year, attracting athletes from around the world to participate.
