The biggest man-made port in China, Tianjin Port is located on the western shore of Bohai Bay. This is the only way of reaching Beijing by water. The Tianjin Port Harbor Station is equipped with advanced facilities. There are two floors on the main building with nine waiting halls, ticket hall and restaurant in the west and luggage room and consignation room in the east.

There are three lines of national regular ships from Tianjin Harbor: from Tianjin to Longkou, Yantai and Dalian. There are two lines of international regular ships: from Tianjin to Kobe, Japan, and from Tianjin to Inchon, Korea.

Perfect for spending the hole day there. Avoid going on weekends, it's really crowded

Boating on the Kunming Lake is highly recommended. It feels more tranquil and relaxed to stay away from crowds of tourists.

A very picturesque imperial garden, well worth visiting. Now the Summer Palace is conveniently accessible by subway. Suggest you don’t visit during the peak season, too crowded. Not many scenic spots, but the 17-hole bridge is a must-see, and the stone carved lions are exquisite. The Tower of Buddhist Incense is also worth seeing.

Even though the Summer Palace is one of the main tourist attractions in Beijing, it is so big that you can always find a quiet spot for yourself. The main sites are concentrated in the northern part of the large Kunming Lake, but it is possible to walk all around it, so to the south you can still get a peaceful walk. There are also many hidden away gardens on Longevity Hill. In the summer Kunming Lake is the largest open water is Beijing and is one of the most cooling places in the city (without an air conditioner). The Summer Palace is a nice place, do not miss it.
