As the most stirring traditional entertainment activity, the horse race is held during the Nadam Grass Festival every year. Minorities in China such as Kazakstan, Mongolia, Uygur, Tadjik, and Kirgiz are very fond of this sport, especially those on Tianshan Mountain and Altai Prairie. Herdsmen from far and near are looking forward to join this pageant. Generally, every competitor will run through a distance of about 20 to 30 kilometers from the ending to the beginning point at the guide of specialist. The horse racing often is held in the wedding ceremony and some important holidays.
