The earth ceramic items in Xinjiang are divided into two kinds: glazed ceramic items and the ceramic items without glaze. The large scaled Guifu (urn) are mainly white ceramic with needle like base and are generally put on the wooden support or half buried in the earth to maintain the coolness and cleanness of the water contained in it. As to the glazed ceramics, the variety is big including bowls, plates, vases, kettles and so on among which the ceramic kettle of Yingjisha can be called a wonder. The body of the kettle but never makes water, which is really mysterious.
