Dragon Lantern, Wuhu

The head and tail of the dragon lantern are made of bamboo. The body of the dragon is an overarched bamboo fixed on a wood block on the two ends. A white block is pasted on the bamboo body, which is painted with cloud-shaped pattern in red and green. When night falls, candles are lightened inside the dragon. Actors play the dragon lantern accompanied by the gong and drum.

As to the rolling dragon lantern, the framework of the head and tail of the dragon are made by bamboo. And the outside is pasted with silk and voile. Each section of the dragon is a cylinder framework made by bamboos and is covered by white cloth with clouds patterns. Each person standing ahead of the head holds a ball-shaped lantern named dragon ball. The dragon lantern is always on performance in Spring Festival or other celebrations.
