The cliff caving of Kangjia Shi Menzi is plain and its area is about 220 square meters. The cliff caving carves about 300 figures. Among them, the tall one is about 2.04 meters and the little one is about 19 centimeters. The cliff caving comprises different postures or models of people. For example, standing people, sitting people, naked people, one body with two heads, and man and woman working together, and so on.
The cliff caving reflects a true life picture characterized by mix marriages of primitive Sai ethic group who wishes to pray for offspring and descendants. According to some experts’ researches, the cliff caving is about the life of old Sai ethic group who lived around the Pamirs, Tianshan Mount, and Northern Xinjiang before 2,500 years. Like other nomads, the economic life of old Sai ethic group was characterized by moving about in quest of pasture. They also did smelting operations and made ironware. After the end of the three century BC, old Sai ethic group established their own kingdom. The ruler was called “King Sai”. Old Sai ethic group liked tip hats and worship all kinds of copper ware, wares plated with gold and patterns with different wild animals.
After old Sai ethic group went into Western Regions they once played important roles in the old history of Xinjiang. And the County of Hutubi has a long history. In West Zhou Dynasty (BC 1046-BC 771) the ancestry of the local people had lived here and they created a brilliant history.
