The Silk Road Museum, also known as the Kashgar Regional Museum, was established in Kashgar 1992. It occupies an area of 2,360 square meters. Hundreds of cultural relics are being displayed in the museum. There are ancient text records from various religions, tools and instruments used by traders and nomads, and some fascinating prehistoric artifacts that could be traced back to the Calahan Dynasty, Han and Tang Dynasties, Bronze Age, and even to Stone Age. The exhibition of these precious cultural relics serves as great demonstrations of the splendid history of ancient Silk Road.
